Treasury Time: Day of the Dead

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Enjoy this colorful inspiration for a Day of the Dead celebration.  No, it's not Halloween!  Lots of preparation and care goes into the festivities for this Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1 and 2.  Altars are made for loved ones who have passed on, decorated with flowers, candles, and photos.  There is lots of food and candy shaped like skulls.  Relatives make visits to graveyards and there are parades and celebrations in the town.  What a joyous way to remember!
