New Item: Cake Topper for a Pirate Party

 

Ahoy mateys!  There's a new cake bunting in "Pirate Ship", perfect for your pirate-themed party.  It includes red and white stripes, black prints, and burlap. 

Treasury Time: Celebrate Africa!

We often hold African-themed parties when we get nostalgic for home.  Want to throw your own? Here are a few ideas that add an African vibe to any occasion.

• For colors, think neutral and natural as in linen, taupe, and khaki, then add animal prints and pops of bold hues
• Set the scene with vintage style safari photos in rustic wood frames, a pair of vintage binoculars, woven baskets, and carved wooden animals. 
• Patterned African fabrics make great tablecloths - or decorate your walls with a fun wax print bunting like the one below.
• For flowers, proteas and strelitzia (also known as bird of paradise) are indigenous to South Africa.  Aloes and other succulents are too, so a grouping of these in pots or vessels of different sizes also make nice centerpieces.
• For a wedding, I think bridesmaids would look amazing wearing a single piece of African inspired jewelry (I seriously adore the color-blocked bib necklace by The Glossy Queen) 
• Don't forget to put on some African music to get everyone on their feet - filled with happy energy and the rhythm of the drums, it's the spirit of Africa! Try African Party by Putumayo Records.

New Item: "Cupid Bear" Animal Figurine

 

 

A little Cupid Bear for Valentine's Day, with red, pink and white hearts. Hand-sculpted from polymer clay and painted with acrylic colors. 

New Item: Cake Topper in "Tropical Punch"

Inspired by my island wedding treasury in the previous post, this cake topper in "Tropical Punch" is made up of flags in turquoise polka dots, turquoise with a bit of sparkle, and peach.

Treasury Time: Island Getaway Wedding

 

This beach wedding collection was inspired by our amazing island getaway to Grand Cayman last February (wish I was there right now!).  Create a laid-back island feel with serene sea glass green, aqua, and turquoise blue (as in, the unbelievably turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean), along with vibrant coral hues.  For bouquets and centerpieces I like pink ginger flowers or peachy hibiscus with lush greens. And when it comes to tropical flavors passionfruit is a must for me, so mix it up in signature cocktails or showcase it in one of the sweets on your dessert table.

Treasury Time: French Country Wedding

A chateau chic collection inspired by a wedding in the French countryside (Provence, perhaps?), in romantic white with lots of lace.  I love the rustic skeleton key seating chart from Airth & Olson, and the farm house jam favors in Blackberry Merlot by Sweet Caroline Jams.  Flowers freshly picked from the field and loosely arranged in mason jars, and a simple bouquet for the bride, would be just perfect here. And a fragrant lavender toss is such a memorable way to send off the happy couple, non?
