Christmas 2016

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy Christmas!  Amalia requested an Arctic theme this year, but I kind of turned it into an Arctic exploration theme with paper boats, icicles, polar animals and sea creatures.  Amalia has already claimed the globe, which we found at Target.  I think my favorite thing was the giant knit polar bear, which was adapted from Donna Wilson's 35 Knitted Animals and Other Knitted Creatures book.  We followed the pattern using thicker wool roving and bigger needles.  He was extra-huggable!  The whale ornament (third photo) is available as a pattern from Mimi Kirchner on Etsy.  Instructions for making the paper icicles can be found here.  With our white walls it made the living room look like an ice cavern and they were a big hit with the kids.  Looking forward to lots more fun and creativity in 2017!  xo

Here's a photo of a sweet woodland-themed cake sent in by a lovely customer.  It's just magical!  

I love the tiny deer, and also the rustic sticks used to hold up the bunting.  

This lovely customer sent me a photo of the travel-themed baby shower that she hosted.  We worked on creating bunting in pink and aqua blue that would work with her hot-air balloon centerpieces.  They look so pretty! 

 Thank you so much to both of you for sharing - I love seeing all the creative ideas you come up with, and I hope lots of happy memories were made!

New Items: Autumn Celebrations

Here are some new items in the shop for your autumn celebrations.  The cake toppers feature fall shades of orange, peach, tans, and browns in floral and leaf prints.  These would be perfect for an October wedding, a pumpkin-themed birthday party, or your Thanksgiving pie table.  I'm also so excited to share a new wedding cake card that I've designed with an autumn theme and a cute little pair of woodland foxes as a topper.  Hope you like it!
