This week we celebrated our brother’s 30th
birthday, albeit it was two months to the day belated.
Celebrations in our house are never short of fun party decor and of course fabulous cakes! Athena and I always make Angelo a decadent
ice cream cake for his birthday. We
always try to outdo the last with even more ridiculous ingredients, layers and
combinations. This year was the Tiramisu
Ice Cream Cake. Let me describe it:
Layer 1 – crushed chocolate wafers mixed with chocolate ice cream; Layer 2 –
Frangelico soaked lady fingers; Layer 3 – Nutella mixed with fresh whipped
cream; Layer 4 – coffee ice cream; The Top – a dusting of cocoa and toasted hazelnuts. Adorned with yellow and blue bunting, and not to mention those candles that never blow out!
The result? I think everyone was on cloud
nine for a while there. Another party highlight were these super fun
insta-mustaches. Who doesn’t love an
insta-mustache moment? I know I do. All in all, the party was a super success.
Extra special touches are what makes those days so simply unforgettable J
