Treasury Time: The Golden Season
Saturday, September 15, 2012
Yesterday I was admiring the soft golden morning light that only seems to happen at this time of year. I tried to capture it in this autumn wedding treasury in shades of champagne and honey, with a hints of orange and olive green. It features November's flower, the chrysanthemum, which represents cheerfulness and optimism.

That's Amore!
Friday, September 14, 2012
Here's a photo that my cousin sent me, from the Italian countryside-themed bridal shower she threw for her friend. To make the vases, we glued fabric onto Mason jars with Mod Podge and used fabric paint for the lettering. We filled them with fresh flowers she bought from the market. So pretty!
Take a look at more Italian-inspired ideas here in this post.

Photo Friday: For the Classic Bride

What would you find on the classic bride's dressing table? Chanel No. 5 perfume, of course; roses and pearls, and something blue from her grandmother's jewelry box...

Inspiration: Mexico Magico!
Wednesday, September 12, 2012
I came across this "Mexico Magico" invitation set by JP Design Studio while looking for ideas for a Mexican fiesta wedding. The bold colors and combination of papel picado, folk art, and tilework patterns perfectly captures the essence of a festive destination wedding in Mexico (Pamela, the shop's owner and designer, is Mexican born and raised). I just love the collection of Mexican refrescos on the reply card - so clever!
Take a look at another of her invite designs, "Mexico Lindo", in my Destination Mexico treasury below, where I also took some cues from the traditional yet free-spirited style of one of my favorite artists, Frida Kahlo.
